Aims and Objectives of the workshop
This interactive workshop aims to provide participants a clear understanding of the technology issues they face as leaders. It explores some of the threats, risks and potential harm; whist identifying the opportunities. If you are in leadership you need to understand your technology, how to use it and how to keep yourself, your team and your organisation safe.
Have you ever wondered what the fuss about cybercrime is, or been the victim of fraud or identify theft, or been asked for advice or support by the public, a colleague or members of your organisation? If so or if you lead a team of people who use e-communications, the internet or mobile communications then this is the workshop for you. We will consider:
- The principles of Cybersecurity, making your organisation safe, where to go for help, when and why
- External and sometimes internal risks of Cybercrime, identity theft, fraud and other offences
- A comprehensive view of Social media including its value to communication, its risk to your organisation and the huge shifts it can produce for you and your staff
Working through these we will help you understand the need to be a Digital Leader and identify an action plan for the future. We will use examples, exercises and research to make a thought provoking, entertaining and educational reflection on the new Leaders understanding of technology.
As a participant you will gain opportunities to test, in a safe environment your understanding of existing and future uses of technology. Building confidence and setting challenges to take back to the workplace. This is a good primer for those who have succeeded in a specialist role such as Sales, Operations or Public Service to find out what they can expect as senior leaders in the future.
The workshop will be delivered through facilitator input, sharing of experiences, practical work and feedback.
