Wireless Communication, Intelligence and Police Operations


    Course Abstract

    Police work requires effective coordination and communication with many other emergency services. Critical incidents, such as bombings or large scale public order events test the ability of public safety and public service organisations to mount a well-coordinated response. This course examines the way wireless communication has facilitated a change in the way police respond to situations and how better equipped they now are to deal with policing in the 21st century.


    Aims and Objectives

    Students will learn the significance of wireless communication in modern day to day policing with a focus on the advantages of using such technology in critical and major incidents.

    At the end of the course the student/participant will be able to:

    • The importance of using wireless Communications properly inside the control rooms
    • The types of Wireless Communications
    • The rules and methods of wireless Communications
    • Factors of success and constraints for wireless Communications
    • Communication skills and receiving calls and communicate with other
    • The right behave in dealing with reports and critical accidents and how to notified
