Martin Stevens


Martin has a long and distinguished police career of over 32 years, retiring from the Metropolitan Police Service in 2008, reaching the rank of Detective Chief Superintendent. Martin gained his policing experience both within London and Sussex forces where he gained numerous qualifications, specialising in the areas of Crime investigation, Neighbourhood Policing, Community Oriented Problem Solving, Major Incident Response, Public Order Command, Offender Management and Criminal Justice reform. With  proven expertise in collaborative and inclusive leadership, people and team development, strategic planning and problem solving, he has been both a National and International  speaker  presenting  London’s Safer Neighbourhoods programme to numerous visiting International and  nationally to the Gendarme in Paris,  the European Community Policing Forum in Slovenia, Chicago Police department  USA and at the Swedish symposium of Criminology in Stockholm:  In 2006 Martin presented his pain staking work of victim and forensic recovery at the crime scene of the 7/7 tube train bombing to the  North America Defence Alliance in Eire.
